A love hotel that people line up for.

Last weekend, I went to a love hotel with my girlfriend called MINT in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Since it was the weekend, there was actually a line of people waiting to get in. I thought love hotels were places where couples went so that they could have sex in secret.

The average age of virginity loss is going down in Japan.

Currently in Japan, the average age at which people lose their virginity is gradually going down, and the teenage abortion rate and rate of STDs among teenagers is rising. There was even an article once about a sixth grader who had sex with a boy in her class and found out about her pregnancy during a health examination. Since elementary school children are basically clueless when it comes to contraceptives, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more stories like this out there. And I'm sure only more will spring up. It seems that a large percentage of Japan's teenagers think that STDs and pregnancy has "nothing to do with us."



Contraceptive education is weakening.

An 18-year old girl from Yokohama had sex with a boy from her class when she was 16, and then gave birth to her child when she was 17. It seems that they normally used condoms, but one time they couldn't find one, so they had bare sex, and she got pregnant. A friend of hers also said "I didn't use a condom for a year and never got pregnant," but soon after, she got pregnant as well.

Early pregnancy affects not only the mother, but the people around her. In 1984, the percentage of 12th graders who had had sex was 22%, but in 2002 it was 37%. And it looks like the abortion rate is rising along with that.

Information about sex is everywhere.

Information about sex can be found anywhere -- in manga, movies, and on the internet. (Including this blog.) It is a proven fact that if children take in incorrect information regarding sex, that the rate of early sex will rise.

You may find this odd coming from me, but "sex" is not the only essential part of a healthy sex life. The relationship I have with my partner excites me much more than sex itself. Not only the act of sex, but a strong relationship, and proper sex education are also essential to a healthy sex life.

The ultimate purpose for sex is to bear children. Men ejaculate so that their sperm can be delivered to women's wombs, fertilize their eggs, and create a new human to carry on their DNA.

It starts with an erection.

When men are sexually aroused, their brains order their bodies to collect nitric oxide. The nitric oxide that collects in the smooth muscle known as the penis slackens it and then increases blood flow in the erectile tissue. The swelled-up blood vessels fill the gaps in the erectile tissue and harden the penis due to blood pressure, making it erect. The more slack a penis starts out, the more blood can flow in and make it even harder. Treatment to counteract impotence focuses on this very act of collecting nitric oxide in the penis, making it easier for penises to become erect without any sexual arousal.



Deliver semen into the womb.

When his penis becomes erect, a man inserts his penis into a woman and has sex. By bucking his hips, he increases his sexual arousal by the friction and eventually ejaculates. He continues bucking right up until the point when he ejaculates, when he stops instantly, sticks his penis as deep as he can into the woman's vagina, and then delivers his sperm. Personally, it's hard for me to keep bucking my hips as I ejaculate. It probably has something to do with my instinct that tells me it's easier to impregnate a woman if my penis goes deeper into her vagina. Doggy style allows men to insert their penises very deep, so it's a good position for this.



Conditions that encourage impregnation.

It's easiest for women to get pregnant right before they ovulate. Sperm can survive after they're ejaculated in vaginas for three to four days, some even for a maximum of ten days. Eggs only last for one day after they're ovulated. A degree of good timing during these conditions for pregnancy to happen. Ovulation days can be calculated by the basal body temperature method and by inspecting saliva.

Also, men's sperm counts are refilled completely two or three days after their last ejaculation, so it's best to wait until your sperm count is refilled if you want to impregnate your partner. Ingesting lots of zinc will increase your sperm count and make them more energetic, so I would suggest zinc supplements to men who wish to ejaculate lots of sperm.



However, waiting too long to ejaculate may not necessarily be a good thing. 2 to 5 days maximum is best to increase the quantity and thickness of sperm. If a man waits too long between ejaculations, the sperm production in his testicles may stop, and the produced sperm may age, losing energy. No more than one week is recommended. It's also important to make sure your semen does not leak out of the vagina after ejaculation. Try staying still and keep your penis inserted for twenty to thirty minutes after ejaculation. Finally, sex between October and May, having sex in a bright place, and having good, satisfying sex can also encourage pregnancy.

Yesterday, I had sex with my partner in her room. At the time, there were condoms on sale for cheap at the local drugstore, so I picked up a pack.

They were polyurethane condoms.



Polyurethane condoms feel better than rubber condoms.

Compared to rubber condoms, polyurethane condoms get stuck less and don't stretch due to vaginal friction. Because of this, the feeling of the inside of the vagina is transmitted more directly to the penis, and so it feels like you aren't wearing any sort of condom at all. They also have high thermal conductivity, so you can better feel the warmth of your partner.

Thin but safe.

I usually find the "Sagami Original 002" brand condoms at my local drugstore. They're only 0.02mm thick, unlike any rubber alternative. Since they're so thin, it really feels like you aren't wearing any sort of protection at all. Also, even though they're so thin, polyurethane is actually safer than rubber. Rubbers can sometimes break when you insert your penis into a vagina, but polyurethane is stronger and doesn't break so easily.

You can have sex without worrying about the condom.

It's difficult for polyurethane condoms to just slip off, so you can buck your hips all you want and enjoy sex without worrying a bit about the condom itself. They're often more expensive than rubber condoms, but if you have some change to spare, I definitely suggest you pick up a pack of polyurethane condoms.
