An age in which even elementary schoolers have sex.

Original Post

Lately, Japanese society has seen a downward shift in the age that people first have sex. When I was in elementary school, I didn't hear any talk about love, and especially not sex. I don't think kids started talking about things like that until they became middle schoolers.

Impregnation is possible even among elementary schoolers.

Once their secondary sex characteristics appear, females start having their periods, and males start ejaculating -- which means there are rare cases when elementary and middle school children become pregnant. I remember hearing one story about a sixth grade girl who had sex with a boy in middle school, got pregnant, and then got an abortion. I wonder what percent of Japanese children are actually having sex? I remember seeing a graph in my own sex ed booklet displaying people's ages and what percent of them had had sex. Do schools make elementary school students fill out those kind of graphs these days?

Ejaculation awakens males to sex.

It seems like most men awaken to sex when they first ejaculate. I think the same can be said for myself. I'm pretty sure I first ejaculated when I was in sixth grade. After I ejaculated for the first time, the next thing I knew, I was thinking about wanting to have sex.

Children learn how to have sex online.

The influence of the internet is massive these days. All you need to do is type "sex" into a search engine, and a sea of results will appear - most of them being porn sites. There is no lack of information on sex these days. Sex wisdom and information can be found anywhere, especially on the internet. That's one of the reasons I never had any problems when I first had sex.

Society's image of sex must change.

I think that if things are left like this, then the average age of first times will only become younger and younger. Obviously, if a child is born, then someone has to raise it. Can an elementary or a middle schooler raise a child? They may be able to create them, but I highly doubt they could raise one well.

Compared to Japan, Sweden has a very open stance toward sex, and apparently, they teach elementary school children all about sex in school. However, at this point, the children don't start thinking things like "sex is bad." The entire country is very open toward sex, and by getting rid of the "sinful" image sex has, Sweden has been able to lower its sex crime rate and keep the average age of first times from getting lower.

In Japan, the media's information and ideas about sex precede those of true sex education. Therefore, I think it could only be for the better if elementary school children in Japan were given proper sex education.
